CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) — A Holocaust survivor shared his story in Cedar Rapids on Sunday night.

Jacob Eisenbach spoke to more than a hundred people at the Holocaust Remembrance Service at the First Presbyterian Church.

During the Holocaust, Eisenbach was forced to go to a work camp in Poland. He survived the war, and later moved to the U.S. and settled in Cedar Rapids.

Now, he works to educate people about the Holocaust that killed at least six million Jewish people, along tens of thousands of others.

“The world should never forget what happened. There should be a word of the genocides that happened throughout three or four thousand years against all races, religions and nationalities,” he said. “That’s my main objective. My main reason for giving all these speeches.”

Sunday is Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel.
