On April 9, 2011, Elaine Geller visited college campuses in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Geller’s presentations, entitled “Remembering the Holocaust: A Survivor’s Story,” were made possible thanks to funding from the Thaler Holocaust Memorial Fund.
Elaine Geller was a 4-year-old girl living in Poland at the time of the Nazi invasion. After a brutal six-year struggle to live, Geller became one of the youngest survivors of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. She was imprisoned with Anne Frank, who was eventually killed. Geller shared her memories of a lost childhood during this presentation.
